Starting in September 2026, the ILAC@RDP program is launching in the Canadian province of Alberta — a joint project between language school ILAC and Red Deer Polytechnic college. The essence of the joint initiative is simple and convenient: a foreign student first completes a preparatory stage where they study English and academic skills, and then enrolls in the main program at the college without any unnecessary complications.
Foreign students typically start with the Academic Prep Pathway course — a combination of: English language study (ESL) + preparation for studying at a college or university. Upon successfully completing the program, students can immediately transfer to their chosen course at Red Deer Polytechnic, whether it is a certificate, diploma, or degree. This means there is no need to separately search for a language school and then reapply — everything is now structured into one logical sequence.
In addition, foreign students are on campus from day one and gain access to all college infrastructure and support:
- Orientation support,
- Academic guidance,
- Student services.
Quick facts:
- Red Deer Polytechnic is an institution with a long history (founded in 1964) offering 80+ programs: from short-term certificates to full degrees. Many courses qualify graduates for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP), making studying there an even more practical investment in the future.
- ILAC is one of Canada's most well-known language providers, which has been working with international students for many years: it offers language schools, university preparation programs, career colleges, and its own international school.
