Thomas Jefferson University (TJU) is a private research university offering more than 200 higher education majors.
The institution traces its history back to 1824, being originally known as the Philadelphia Textile School, then the Institute, College of Textiles and Related Sciences. Since the 19th century, Thomas Jefferson University has existed in the region, whose history began with the medical school. In 2017, Thomas Jefferson University and the University of Philadelphia joined forces to establish a truly modern, competitive institution of higher education in the USA. Today, about 7,800 students study at TJU's two campuses, some of whom come from other states and countries. The teaching staff is represented by qualified specialists from various fields of sciences, many of whom are still actively involved in research.

Accommodation, meals, prices
Students of the main TJU campus live in three residences located near academic buildings and the university hospital, city attractions, shops and restaurants. Two residential buildings, Barringer and Orlowitz, offer one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments with separate bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens and living rooms. The premises, except for bathroom and kitchen areas, are unfurnished, allowing students to create a comfortable interior for themselves. In the Martin Residence Hall residence, accommodation is organized in a traditional style: single and double rooms with access to shared bathrooms, kitchens and other amenities on the floor.
Ravenhill campus students are accommodated in traditional residences and townhouses. First-year students and undergraduate majors live on campus: all conditions have been created for their comfort, including lounges, a dining hall, and laundry facilities.
Many students of the residences have a meal plan; first-year students are required to arrange it for their first year of study. Meal plans include a certain number of meals per week, additional points for spending in university stores, and offer students flexibility in choosing dishes and establishments.
